I'm brand new to this tribe, and have yet to read through all the posts, starting backwards.
My former endocronologist put me on a very restricted diet in the past. Basically no alcohol, no iodized salt or foods w/salt in them (most processed foods), no seafood unless it was fresh water like salmon, no caffeinated products, etc. He also insisted I sleep elevated (like on 2-3 pillows), which has turned out to be a burden and VERY uncomfortable on my neck and back... NOT a restful night of sleep by any means.
While on this diet (granted I didn't follow it to the T), I did feel somewhat better and things were more under control, but it took ALOT of effort to be that wary and cautious of everything I put in my mouth.
For Grave's, I use alot of moisturized eye drops throughout the day, and the Refresh P.M. or Lacrilube (the thicker ointments) at night. The ointments are a must, otherwise I'd wake up tearing, and eyes would twitch all day long. The doc also recommended taping my eyes shut, but the tapes don't stay on because of the ointment.
It's a b*tch most of the time, I try to deal and manage, but some days it catches up to me and I cave.
Thank you for this tribe.
